Virtual Reality & Digital Platforms
Taking Youth Shedz to the Next Level with VR.
Creating a virtual community where everyone can connect, explore, and grow—no matter where they are.

When Covid hit, we jumped into action, quickly reaching out to our Shedderz. After the initial rush, we began exploring new ways to connect with our young people—especially those harder to reach. With support from the Steve Morgan Foundation, we secured funding to create a private, youth-led online platform and mobile app.
Then the big idea struck: a Virtual Reality Youth Shed! Thanks to SIP funding, the Open University, Coleg Cymoed, and the KFC Foundation, we brought this vision to life. Now, with 10 VR headsets and the help of young pioneers from across Wales, we’ve developed a virtual space where Shedderz can connect, explore, and share unique experiences, including a custom VR escape room with clues crafted by our creative writing group.

We’re also developing VR experiences on serious topics, like County Lines and Knife Crime, in collaboration with the police and youth organizations. This allows us to educate and raise awareness in a realistic, immersive way.
Youth Shedz is just beginning to tap into VR’s potential. We’re excited to keep building and expanding this virtual space, accessible to all—even without a headset. If you’d like to try VR with your young people or get involved, reach out to arrange a chat!
“We reviewed what has happened to the original Shedderz we first helped, most of whom were referred to us by community police or housing associations. 18 of these 21 Shedderz now have jobs or are back in education or training.”
