Steps To Starting A Youth Shed

Becoming a Youth Shed involves a clear process centred on community and young people’s needs. Here’s how to get started:

1. Appoint a Youth Shedz Champion

A Champion is the key individual who leads and supports the Youth Shed initiative. They act as a role model, guide young people, and work with a partner organization.

2. Partner with a Local Organization

This organization should be constituted, have a bank account, and meet policies and safeguarding requirements. Examples include schools, churches, or community centres.

3. Engage the Community

Involve other adults, volunteers, and funders to support projects and ensure consistent help during sessions.
